An epidemic of loneliness, shut-ins and social isolation has swept the entire world, primarily affecting young men. With internet addiction, romantic rejection, and other forms of self-imposed social isolation deemed as medical conditions, corporations eventually sought out a solution inspired by online forums of the afflicted: genetically engineered super companions, or "cat girls."
